Respiratory Update- COPD, STP Guidelines and Respiratory Politics
The way we deliver health care has to change to meet the needs of our ever increasingly complex patients with extensive co-morbidities.
To this end the 5 year forward view suggested that Primary Care tries to work at scale to enable specialists who may be available in one site to speak their expertise across a larger number of patents.
Sustainability & Transformation Plans became Sustainability & Transformation Partnerships and since then have become Integrated Care Systems. Norfolk & Waveney are working towards becoming an ICS which should encourage all providers to work together to reduce some of the problems caused by the 2012 Health & Social Care Act.
This talk will discuss the problems posed by the 2012 Act and describe the STP process at present being discussed in Norfolk & Waveney. It will also discuss the Right Care STP Respiratory working group’s work which is focused at trying to reduce variability (in line with the Right Care principles) and the ongoing work to improve respiratory care across the region.
Daryl Freeman is Chair of the Norfolk & Waveney Right Care STP working group and an Associate Clinical Director for Norfolk Community Health & Care.
