Epilepsy Community Support: The role of the Epilepsy Specialist Nurse
Juliet Ashton: Epilepsy Specialist Nurse
There are 7,377 patients registered with epilepsy across the five Clinical Commissioning Groups in Norfolk. We have an excellent team of Neurologists at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, headed up by Dr Mamutse.
You will hear how the community Epilepsy Specialist Nurses across Norfolk compliment and support the secondary acute team and GPs in primary care. There is such a range of information and support which patients need, from driving, seizure care plans, risk and safety to employment and so much more in between. The role of the Epilepsy Specialist Nurse is ideally placed to provide all of this. Juliet will bring her role to life using case studies of how patients with epilepsy can be supported and to understand how primary, community and secondary care can work together.
